England and Afghanistan will square off in the second match of the Super 12 stage on Saturday, October 22 at Perth.

In the warm-up matches, England defeated Pakistan where English batters made quick runs and bowlers also got wickets.

On the other hand, Afghanistan performed well in both departments and showered a convincing win over Bangladesh. In the second match against Pakistan, bowlers restricted Pak to 154/6 before the match got abandoned due to rain. 

There is no doubt about England being a dangerous side but their T–20I records have demonstrated it well. The English so far has played 21 T20Is in 2022 from which they have won 10 and lost 10 and one match went with no result. 

England's batting in 2022 has been quite impressive where all-rounder Moeen Ali is the highest run-getter with 458 runs in 17 innings. Dawid Malan comes second with 453 runs in 15 innings and Harry Brooks with 316 runs in 12 innings has shown gritty intent for England. 

Young pacer Reece Tooley has been amazing in 2022 as the pacer has got 17 wickets in 16 matches, but due to injury, he has been ruled out of the World Cup.

Adil Rashid is the second top wicket taker with 15 in 17 innings and third comes David Willey, who scalped 13 wickets in 11 innings.

Apart from them, England has dangerous batters Jos Buttler, Liam Livingston, Alex Hales, Ben Stokes, and Mark Wood with them, who are ready to nail England toward the World Cup title.

Afghanistan on the other side has been laced with tremendous T–20I stars. Najibullah Zafran has been the best Afgan batter in 2022 with 327 runs in 14 innings. Hazratullah Zazai was second in 13 matches with 298 runs and Rahmanullah Gurbaz with 297 runs in 14.

Afghanistan has a lot of caliber in its bowling lineup. Rashid Khan is their best bowler and also second best in the World in T20Is. Rashid has scalped 15 wickets in 15 matches this year.

His compatriot Fazalhaq Farooqi is at the second spot with 17 wickets in 13 matches and Mujeeb Ur Rahman is the third best as he grabbed 13 wickets in 11 matches. 

Afghanistan apart from them includes Mommamad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Ibrahim Zafran, who will take responsibility to make runs for the team.
