Afghanistan registered a historic 6 wickets in the 1st T20I, which is their first win against Pakistan in any international match. Bowlers stood up as the opposition were restricted to just 92/9 in 20 overs. Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Mohammad Nabi picked up 2 wickets each while Azmatullah Omarzai, Naveen-ul-Haq and captain Rashid Khan registered 1 scalp apiece. In batting, former skipper Nabi stepped up with the bat, scoring 38 runs off 38 balls and taking Afghanistan to a 1-0 lead in the series. 

The young Pakistani side, led by Shadab Khan had a very disappointing outing in the 1st T20I. None of the batters were able to breach the 20-run mark and hence, Pakistan couldn't even cross the 100-run mark. Imad Wasim was the top scorer with 18 runs. The bowlers didn't have much to play with and nevertheless, Ihsanullah was impressive with 2 wickets for 17 runs in his 3.5 overs. Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim also managed 1 wicket each.
