Allround CSK Register 1st Win Of IPL 2022, Defeat RCB By 23 Runs
Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs.
A dominating all-round performance by Chennai Super Kings grabbed the defending champions the first win of the season, ending their four-match losing streak by defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 23 runs in the 22nd match of the IPL 2022.
Chasing a mammoth target of 216, RCB couldn't get going and lost four wickets inside the first seven overs. Faf du Plessis (8), Anuj Rawat (12), and Virat Kohli (1) failed to give the much-needed start Bangalore required. Glenn Maxwell scored 26 in 11 balls but failed to make the most of the start.

Debutant Suyash Prabhudessai and Shahbaz Ahmed added 60 runs in the next 33 balls to keep RCB's hopes alive in the chase. Suyash scored 34 in 18 balls with the help of five fours and a six while Shahbaz made 41 in 27 balls, including four fours.
RCB lost three wickets in quick succession including Suyash, Shahbaz, and Wanindu Hasaranga as CSK once again took the upper hand. However, it was Dinesh Karthik's 34 in 14 balls that kept RCB still interested in the run chase.
Karthik got out in the 18th over and it was only formality left as CSK restricted RCB to 193/9 and finally won a match this season.
Maheesh Theekshana was the star of Chennai's bowling as he wrecked RCB's batting lineup with four wickets in his four overs. Theekshana was only playing his second IPL match today. Ravindra Jadeja also picked three wickets.
Earlier, Shivam Dube and Robin Uthappa powered Chennai to 215/4 in the first inning.
CSK didn't start well and were 60/2 at one stage in 10 overs. However, Uthappa and Dube then changed the gears and took CSK to the highest total of the IPL 2022.
The duo added 165 runs for the third wicket in just 74 balls - the highest partnership of the season. Both missed out on well-deserved centuries as Uthappa got out for 88 in the penultimate over. His inning included four fours and nine sixes. Dube remained unbeaten on 95 in 46 balls with the help of five fours and eight sixes.
