New Zealand batting was in trouble star batter Martin Guptill was sent back to the bench by Maxwell’s stunner, but then scored some partnership and at one point the Kiwis were looking in a comfortable position. Devon Conway (46 runs of 68 balls) and skipper Williamson (45 runs of 71 balls) were batting fine but soon both the batters were out.

After two quick wickets, Tom Lathem (43 runs of 57 balls) stood at the crease for longer time and made a much-needed partnership with Daryl Mitchell (26 of 33). But the table turned around when Glenn Maxwell scalped his second and third wicket in the form of two set batters. From here, New Zealand team bundled to 232/9 in 50 overs.
