Kolkata, November 25 - After bundling out Afghanistan for only 99 runs, Bangladesh got to the target with eight wickets and 25.3 overs to spare in an Under-19 cricket tri-series match at the Jadavpur University ground here on Wednesday.
With the win, Bangladesh grab a place in the final and will battle it out against India on November 29.

Chasing a target of 100 runs, Bangladesh lost openers Saif Hassan (8) and Sheik Imon (7) with the score reading 29-2, but they did not panic and overhauled the Afghanistan total without much difficulty.

Najmul Hossain Shanto (not out 38) and captain Mehidy Hassan Miraz (not out 37) remained unbeaten till the end with a partnership of 72 runs.

Earlier in the day, Bangladesh spinners Saleh Ahmed Shawon (3/32)and Saeed Sarkar (3/6) spun a web around the Afghanistan batting line-up and picked up crucial wickets at regular intervals.

The only notable contribution from Afghanistan came from the willow of Tariq Stanikzai who scored 27. Opener Hazratullah and captain Ihasanullah Jannat scored 16 and 12, respectively.

Afghanistan next play their match against India in a inconsequential rubber on November 27.
