Joe Burns scored a valuable 52 to help Brisbane Heat chase down a target of 175 against Sydney Thunder in the 28th match of Big Bash League(BBL) on Monday.

Burns and Joe Denly paired up to add 90 runs for the fourth wicket, which eventually turned out to be a match winning one. Burns got out in the 19th over after scoring 52 with the help of five fours and two sixes. Denly, too, hit 50 runs off 36 balls which included four overs and two sixes.

Earlier, Chris Lynn smacked 16-ball-30 to give a solid start to the chase. He, along with Max Bryant, scored 37 runs in the first four overs of the powerplay. 

For Thunder, Tanveer Sangha took three crucial wickets - Chris Lynn, Joe Denly, and Lewis Gregory but couldn't help his team win the game. 

Earlier, a collective batting effort helped Thunder score 174/8. Alex Hales top-scored with 46 runs before Daniel Sams and Ben Cutting helped the team reach a competitive total. 

Mujeeb Ur Rahman took the two wickets for 26 runs in his four overs to bag the Man of the Match award.
