A fighting half-century by Nick Larkin made sure Melbourne Stars reach 158/6 against Melbourne Renegades in the 45th match of the Big Bash League(BBL).
Opting to bat first, Stars lost the opener, Andre Fletcher, early and managed to score only 27 runs in the powerplay. Marcus Stoinis looked in good touch as he scored 37 off 27 balls with the help of six fours.

Nick Larkin stood firm from one end as Stars lost wickets at regular intervals. Nathan Coulter-Nile was surprisingly sent at number 4 but got out on a golden duck. Glenn Maxwell followed him soon after scoring just one.
Nic Maddinson played a cameo of 21 off 18 with the help of two sixes and a four. Larkin took the team past the 150 run mark. His 61* included eight fours and a six.
