Manjrekar's comments have come against the backdrop of the ongoing feud between former India skippers Sourav Ganguly and Ravi Shastri after the latter was recently overlooked for the head coach's job.

Shastri, the former team director, on Tuesday lashed out at the Bengal stalwart for being "disrespectful" to which Ganguly retaliated by saying he is living in a "fool's world".

Manjrekar, however, feels the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) comprising Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and V.V.S. Laxman made the right choice.

"More than Sourav, I think Ravi is miffed with the rejection. It's a new experience for him. BCCI have made the better choice as coach," Manjrekar tweeted.

Kumble was appointed for a one-year term and his stint with the team begins with the gruelling four-Test tour of the West Indies next month.
