Bihar seeks CBI probe in snooping on BCCI officials

Kolkata, June 14 (IANS) Claiming that a former Indian cricket board official paid money to a London-based firm to snoop on BCCI officials, secretary of the unrecognised Cricket Association of Bihar, Aditya Verma on Sunday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a CBI probe in the matter.
"I am requesting you to order the CBI to examine the payment of Rs.14 crore made to a London based detective agency to tap phones and hack emails of BCCI officials during the hearing of IPL scam in the Supreme Court," Verma said in the letter.
Asserting it to be a matter concerning national security, Verma, the petitioner in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013 fixing scandal, said intervention of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) was essential to unearth the facts.
This is the third letter Verma has written to Modi seeking his intervention.
