On March 4th (Saturday), the cricketing world received a great shock as legendary Australian leg-spinner Shane Warne, died at the age of 52 due to a heart attack. 
Warne's management company released a statement that the former Aussie giant was found unresponsive in his villa in Koh Samui, Thailand. The statement further stated that despite the best efforts of the medical team Shane Warne couldn't be revived.

The reason for his sudden demise isn't released in detail and will be released in due time by Shane Warne's family. Many famous people from the cricketing fraternity posted their condolences and grief at the passing away of the legendary spinner, who took 708 wickets in his Test career, which ranks at second position among the highest wicket-takers in Test cricket.

This news has come just hours after another Australian legend, former keeper-batter Rod Marsh died aged 74 after he was put into a sleep-induced coma due to cardiac arrest. 

David Warner, the Australian opener, took to Twitter to express his grief on both the demises. He tweeted, 'Two legends of our game have left us too soon. I’m lost for words, and this is extremely sad. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Marsh and Warne family.  I just can not believe it. #rip, you will both be missed'

Indian captain Rohit Sharma took to Twitter and expressed his loss a=of words and shock at this sudden news. He tweeted, 'I’m truly lost for words here, this is extremely sad. An absolute legend and champion of our game has left us. RIP Shane Warne….still can’t believe it'

Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah also expressed his condolences for the former great bowler, 'Shocked beyond words. A legend of our game, an icon, and someone who revolutionised spin bowling. RIP Shane Warne.'

Wasim Jaffer was in disbelief at this loss as his tweet read, '"Whenever he came to the wicket, change came over the game of Cricket"My mind just cannot accept that Shane Warne is no more. Gone too soon.. Thoughts and prayers with his family and friends..RIP Warnie'

West Indies legend Chris Gayle also expressed his grief with his tweet which read, 'RIP LEGEND'

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag tweeted, 'Cannot believe it. One of the greatest spinners, the man who made spin cool, superstar Shane Warne is no more. Life is very fragile, but this is very difficult to fathom. My heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and fans all around the world.'

Current Indian team members Ravindra Jadeja and Shikhar Dhawan also took to Twitter to express their sadness at the demise of the spinner.

It is indeed a great loss for the cricketing world which will be mourned by many. But one shouldn't forget the magic he produced with the ball and spun a web around many legendary batters.
