In a recent update, the Australian Cricketers’ Association has agreed to amend the rules in favor of allowing the teams to field three international players in the playing XI. Earlier, only two international players were allowed to be fielded.

After this massive change in the rules, cricket.com.au took out a country-wise list of "Marquee" players that can add X-factor to the league.

The website named three Indian veterans namely MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina, and Yuvraj Singh in the list of players. All the three above mentioned players have now taken retirement from International cricket and won't be having any commitment when the BBL will be underway.

Yuvraj Singh retired from international cricket in 2019 while Suresh Raina and MS Dhoni bid adieu to the game in August 2020. Dhoni is currently in UAE captaining Chennai Super Kings(CSK) in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

BCCI has remained very strict in not allowing Indian players to play in any foreign T20 tournaments. Raina has previously voiced his opinion in favor of playing in International T20 leagues.

"I hope the BCCI can get together with the ICC or with franchises and allow players who don’t have BCCI contracts to play in overseas leagues. Yusuf (Pathan), myself, Robin Uthappa – a lot of quality players (could) … go overseas and learn a lot. We aren’t in the BCCI contracts list, some of us don’t have IPL contracts. We aren’t playing international cricket, and the competition in domestic cricket isn’t what it is at the international level,” Raina had said.
