Melbourne, March 16 (IANS) India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has risen two places to World No.8 in the latest One-Day International (ODI) batting rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, following the completion of the pool phase of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is still India's highest ranked batsman at No.4 closely followed by left-handed opener Shikhar Dhawan at No.7. Kohli trails South African Hashim Amla, in third, by just four points.

While the four top batsmen have consolidated their positions in the latest batting chart, there are a few other batsmen who have made upward movements following their performances in the second half of the pool stage matches and will aim to continue to head in the right direction when they feature in the knockout stage.

Outside the top 10, Suresh Raina has vaulted three places to No.17 while Rohit Sharma has dropped three places to No.19.

In the bowlers rankings, the highest ranked Indian is Mohammed Shami at No.11. Ravichandran Ashwin, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Ravindra Jadeja have all dropped a place to be ranked at No.17, 18 and 19, respectively. However, Umesh Yadav has been the surprise, climbing eight places to 34th.
