Dinesh Karthik's comeback story has been a sensational one which has attracted all cricket fans and anyone who knows. The 37-year-old bagged the 'Player of the Match' award in the 1st T20I against West Indies, where the batter added invaluable runs in the death overs to take India to a defendable and ultimately a winning total.
India were cruising to a huge total after they were at 88/3 in 10 overs. However, West Indies grabbed a few quick wickets - Rishabh Pant (14) in the 10th over, Hardik Pandya (1) in the 12th over and Rohit Sharma (64) in the 15th over.

However, Dinesh Karthik, batting at #7, came out to bat in the 15th over and blasted India to a good total. DK arrived at the crease after the dismissal of Rohit Sharma on the 5th delivery of the 15th over. On the second delivery of the next over, Dinesh Karthik got forward and drove the fullish outside off delivery with a high elbow for a boundary wide of cover.
On the 5th delivery of the 19th over, Karthik decided it was time to unleash the T20 shots and power India to a good total. Holder bowled a full delivery angling into the right-hander, which was too easy for DK, who stayed back deep inside the crease and clouted it miles away for a six. Karthik faced a slower delivery outside off & Karthik slammed it over the infield on the off-side for a four.
The next over was the last over of the Indian innings, where India were at 175/6 after 19 overs. Obed McCoy was bowling this over for the West Indies and bowled a full delivery outside off right in the hitting arc on the third bowl. Dinesh Karthik got under the ball and sent it for a six-over-long-off. The next delivery was outside edged by DK for a four-over short third man while playing as a left-hander.
DK then smacked a four on the last delivery as he ended the innings on a high. The finisher remained unbeaten on 41 runs in 19 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes as India posted a total of 190/6 in 20 overs.
.@DineshKarthik's knock pushed India's total to a massive 190. His batting was an absolute treat to witness!
