As per the newly registered constitution of the BCCI, no person who has been a member of any cricket committee for a total of five years shall be eligible to be a member of any cricket committee in the future. Going by this, the CAC which was appointed in 2015 has one more year to serve and post that, the trio of Tendulkar, Ganguly and Laxman will not be eligible to be a part of any cricket committee.

What makes matters worse is that the trio were appointed as CAC members in 2015 with the sole aim of inducting former players to enhance the national team's performance as well as provide the roadmap to make the Indian team the best in the world across formats. But in four years, they have officially been given two assignments - to pick the national coach in 2016 and then appointing the new national coach once Anil Kumble's contract ended in 2017. Apart from that, they have had no role in developing the game.

Sadly, the greatest servants of the game are now busy proving that there is no conflict in their dual roles as IPL team mentors and CAC members. Not to forget that the former cricketers weren't even provided a brief on their scope of work as CAC members when they approached the CoA for clarity.
