Indian bowlers struck twice in the morning session of Day 1 of the 1st Test as England managed to score 61/2.
After being put in to field first, India drew the first blood as Jasprit Bumrah removed Rory Burns on the fifth ball of the match. After setting him up with away deliveries, Bumrah brought one back in and got Burns out LBW.

Dom Sibley was then joined by Zak Crawley as the two survived a fierce spell from Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. The introduction of Mohammed Siraj brought a few runs for England but it was only him that got India the second wicket in the form of Crawley.
It was an eventful few deliveries from Siraj when Crawley survived a DRS review by India for being caught behind but two balls later, a similar ball, angling in, got the inside edge and Pant once again convinced Virat Kohli to take the call upstairs.
Skipper Joe Root got a good start as he hit three boundaries before the Lunch was called.
