From Australia's Net Bowler To Striking Fear In David Warner; West Indies Pacer Alzarri Joseph Has Come A Long Way
26-year-old Alzarri Joseph has picked up 26 wickets in 62 international test matches.
The 2-match test series between Australia and West Indies are set to begin on November 30th (Wednesday). The 1st test of the series will be played at pacer-friendly Optus Stadium in Perth, where Windies' young pacer Alzarri Joseph is expected to trouble the hosts with his lethal bowling. However, it is noteworthy that Alzarri Joseph has a special relationship with the Australian cricket team. Very few cricket fans know that this tall pacer was Australia's net bowler 6 years ago and now will be featuring in a test series against them.
26-year-old Alzarri Joseph has come a long way from 2016 when he was a net bowler for the Australian cricket team and the stand-in Aussie coach at the time, Justin Langer, was impressed with the youngster's bowling skills. Joseph's bouncers and yorkers impressed Langer to the extent that the former Australian coach compared the tall pacer to sprinter Usain Bolt and dangerous Windies all-rounder Andre Russell.
