Green & Wade Steer Australia To Record Run Chase Against India; Win By 4 Wickets In 1st T20I
This is the highest run chase ever in T20Is between India and Australia.
IND vs AUS 1st T20I: Opener Cameron Green and wicket-keeper Matthew Wade played explosive knocks as Australia scored 211/6 in 19.2 overs, winning the 1st T20I against India by 4 wickets. This is the highest run chase ever in T20Is between these two teams.
Chasing a huge target of 209, Australia got off to a great start courtesy of openers Aaron Finch and Cameron Green. The openers added 39 runs in 3.3 overs and Finch was then dismissed by Axar Patel after scoring 22 runs.

Cameron Green continued the scoring on the other end, eventually ending up 61 runs off 30 balls with 8 fours & 4 sixes. Green was also dismissed by Axar, in the 11th over of the innings. Steven Smith managed 35 runs off 24 balls while Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for just 1 run, both were dismissed by Umesh Yadav in the 12th over.
Josh Inglis scored 17 runs and was dismissed by Axar in the 15th over. Tim David, on his debut, scored 18 runs off 14 balls before getting dismissed by Chahal in the last over. However, Matthew Wade, with his unbeaten knock of 45 runs in 21 balls steered Australia to victory with 4 balls remaining.
In the first innings, Opener KL Rahul blasted into form while Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya maintained their form, powering India to 208/6 against Australia in the 1st T20I.
India lost Rohit Sharma (11) in the 3rd over by Josh Hazlewood and Virat Kohli (35) in the 5th over by Nathan Ellis. However, opener KL Rahul blasted into form as he smashed 55 runs off 35 balls with 4 fours & 3 sixes. The batter was dismissed in the 12th over by Josh Hazlewood.
Batting at #4, Suryakumar Yadav displayed some great pick-up shots as he scored 46 runs off 25 balls with 2 fours & 4 sixes. The batter was dismissed just 4 runs shy of a half-century by Cameron Green in the 14th over. Dinesh Karthik (6) and Axar Patel (6) were also dismissed cheaply.
However, Hardik Pandya kept thrashing the Australian bowlers in the latter half of the innings, smacking 7 fours & 5 sixes. Pandya went unbeaten after 71 runs off just 30 balls, striking at 236.67.
For Australia, Nathan Ellis picked up 3 wickets while Josh Hazlewood picked up 2 wickets. Cameron Green also managed 1 wicket to his name.

Earlier, Australia captain Aaron Finch won the toss & opted to bowl first against India in the 1st T20I. This match was played at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali.
