IND vs SL: Double Blow For The Sri Lankan Team Ahead Of The 2nd T20I; 2 Players Ruled Out Of The Series
India vs Sri Lanka: Sri Lanka suffers a double injury blow which has ruled out two Lankan players for the entire T20I series against India.
India vs Sri Lanka: A confident team India who clean swept West Indies recently made an easy job out of their contest against Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I and registered a 62-run with Sri Lanka missing their three key players - Hasaranga, Kusal Mendis & Theekshana. And that's not all, Sri Lankan team has now received a double blow ahead of the 2nd T20I against India, as 2 Lankan players have been ruled out of the series due to injury.
Both the teams are suffering from injuries-related problems this series. Ahead of the second T20I, Lankan mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana has been ruled out of the entire series due to a hamstring-related injury.

While #1 ranked all-rounder in T20Is, Wanindu Hasaranga is still awaiting a negative covid report in Australia, and hence will not be able to play a single match in the ongoing T20I series against India. While talking about the Indian team, Deepak Chahar and Suryakumar Yadav were ruled out of the series prior to the start owing to injuries. Moreover, Ruturaj Gaikwad who finally got an opportunity in the last T20I against West Indies was benched in the 1st T20I against Sri Lanka owing to a wrist injury prior to the match.
Amidst all the bad news, there's a bit of good news for Sri Lanka as their bowler, Binura Fernando has recovered from his injury and will be available for the 2nd T20I to be played at Dharamsala on February 26th. While Ruturaj Gaikwad can also make his return to the playing eleven in the 2nd T20I.

Team India has been on a roll in T20Is of late, with the current unbeaten streak extended to 10 matches after the hosts defeated the tourists by 62 runs in the 1st T20I, and leading the series 1-0. Sri Lanka will take on India in the 2nd & 3rd T20I at Dharamsala on February 26th & 27th respectively. The T20I series will be followed by a 2-match test series between the two neighbour cricketing nations.
