The second match was against non-test playing nation East Africa at Headingley. East Africa won the toss and elected to bat first. Against some tight bowling attack they managed to score just 120 runs and were bowled out in 55.3 overs. Madan Lal picked 3 where as Abid Ali and Mohinder Amarnath took 2 wickets each for India.
