IND vs PAK: Match Preview:

Trending

India's 2nd warm-up match against New Zealand was abandoned due to rain and so one may not have much idea how the batters are adapting to conditions in Australia. In the first warm-up game against Australia, KL Rahul scored an ecstatic 57 runs off 33 balls, laced with 6 fours & 3 sixes. While India's leading run scorer in T20Is this year, Suryakumar Yadav, maintained his form as he smacked 50 runs off 33 balls with 6 fours & a six. Rohit Sharma (15) and Virat Kohli (19) got starts but couldn't convert it into a big score.

Indian bowling, devoid of ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah, managed their way as they defended 187 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up 2 wickets while Arshdeep, Harshal and Chahal managed 1 wicket each. But the highlight of bowling was Mohammed Shami - who was given just the last over of the innings, with 11 runs to defend, Shami picked up 3 wickets in the last 4 balls to take India to a 6-run win. It will be interesting to see how the bowling attack deals against the Pakistan batting unit led by Babar Azam and Mohammed Rizwan, who batted India out in their clash in T20 World Cup 2021.

Pakistan's 2nd warm-up game was also washed out after Afghanistan batted the first innings and Pakistan got to play 2.2 overs. In their first warm-up match, chief Pakistan batters Rizwan and Babar didn't take the field. Shadab Khan-led Pakistan team scored 160/8 in 20 overs, with none of the batters stepping up to score big.

Shaheen Afridi was the highlight for Pakistan bowling - the pacer's excellent comeback has left one & all in awe. After conceding just 7 runs in 2 overs against England, the pacer swung the ball like a magician against Afghanistan. The bowler dismissed both the openers - Hazratullah Zazai and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, where Gurbaz was carried on a teammate's shoulder after getting LBW out on a toe-crushing yorker by Shaheen. Along with Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Wasim, the Pakistan bowling attack as always looks formidable. Shadab Khan & Mohammad Nawaz have also been in great form with their spin bowling off late.
