IND vs SA: Match Preview

The Indian batting has failed to deliver big as a unit in this series. While Ruturaj Gaikwad has struggled to get going barring one match, Ishan Kishan has been in seemingly good form. Shreyas Iyer has his troubles against the pacers while captain Rishabh Pant has consistently failed to play impactful knocks for the team. On the bright side, Hardik Pandya has been in good form while Dinesh Karthik registered his maiden T20I fifty in the last match and has finished the innings for team India fairly well.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal had already registered themselves among the wicket-takers in the series. However, Avesh Khan, who went wicketless in the first three T20Is, finally found his A-game as he picked up 4 wickets in the 4th T20I, giving away just 18 runs as the Proteas were restricted to a meagre total of 87.

South African batters have shown up with good & reliable performances in the series. Quinton de Kock, who missed two T20Is due to injury, has strengthened the squad along with Heinrich Klaasen, who cemented his place after coming in as de Kock's replacement and winning the 3rd T20I for South Africa. The middle-order comrpising of Klaasen, van der Dussen and David Miller can take the game away if they get going.

South Africa missed Kagiso Rabada and Wayne Parnell in the 4th T20I, as Indian finishers thrashed the Proteas' bowling without much discomfort on an uncertain pitch. All the bowlers were taken for runs except Lungi Ngidi with an economy of 6.70. Apart from conceding just 20 runs in 3 overs, the pacer also picked up 2 wickets.
