Chasing a target of 192, RCB started brilliantly as they smashed 65 runs inside the powerplay. However, Bangalore lost both its openers - Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in the process. While Kohli, who opened his account with a boundary on the first ball, scored just eight, Padikkal smacked 34 from just 15 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Washington Sundar, after scoring just seven, was removed by Jadeja, who also got Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers out. Jadeja's golden arm once again came into play as he ran Dan Christian out by a direct hit.

Nothing could have changed the fate of RCB's result as CSK continued to pick wickets at regular intervals and win the match by 69 runs.

Earlier, CSK opted to bat first. Chennai openers - Ruturaj Gaikwad and Faf du Plessis - once again provided a good start scoring 51 in the first six overs. The two added 74 runs for the first wicket in nine overs before Gaikwad was caught at the boundary on 33.

Suresh Raina tried to continue the momentum as he hit 24 from 18 with the help of three sixes and a four before getting out to Harshal Patel, who removed half-centurion Du Plessis on the next ball.

Ravindra Jadeja was sent in at number 5. After adding valuable 31 runs from balls with Ambati Rayudu, he was joined by MS Dhoni in the middle. Harshal Patel was given the final over of the innings to bowl with Ravindra Jadeja on strike.

The left-hander smacked four consecutive sixes in the first three legal deliveries and then went on to hit a six and a boundary to end the innings, making it 37 off the last over.

Jadeja scored an unbeaten 62 from just 28 balls with the help of five sixes and four fours. His all-round performance helped CSK climb up to the top of the table.
