The Board of Cricket for Control in India (BCCI) officially announced the IPL 2022 schedule on March 6th. A total of 70 league matches will be played along with 4 Playoff matches during a period of 65 days.
The 15th edition of IPL will kick off from March 26th at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, with a clash between 4-time champions Chennai Super Kings and 2-time winners Kolkata Knight Riders.

MCA Stadium in Pune will host its first league match on March 29th between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. Overall 20 league matches will be played each at Wankhede Stadium & DY Patil Stadium, 15 matches each at Brabourne and MCA International Stadium, Pune.
While a total of 12 double-headers are included in the schedule. The afternoon matches will start at 3.30 PM while the evening matches will commence at 7.30 PM IST. The final game of the league stages will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Punjab Kings on 22nd May at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The schedule for the playoffs and Tata IPL 2022 Final to be played on 29th May 2022 will be announced later by the BCCI.
