IPL 2022: Wriddhiman Saha Takes GT To 7-Wicket Win Against CSK

Gujarat Titans concrete their top 2 finish after defeating Chennai Super Kings by 7 wickets.

CSK vs GT IPL 2022: Wriddhiman Saha played a brilliant & responsible knock, guiding table-toppers Gujarat Titans to a 7-wicket win against Chennai Super Kings. 

Opening the innings, Saha scored an unbeaten 67 runs off 57 deliveries, including 8 fours & a six. Matthew Wade contributed with 20 runs while Shubman Gill scored 18 runs. Miller remained not out on 15 runs off 20 deliveries. 

For Chennai Super Kings, young Maheesha Pathirana impressed with 2 wickets in 3.1 overs, giving away 24 runs. Moeen Ali also managed 1 wicket. 

In the first innings, Gujarat Titans' bowlers displayed a good performance with the ball, restricting defending champions Chennai Super Kings to 133/5 in 20 overs.

For GT, Mohammad Shami registered 2 important wickets, in the form of opener Devon Conway (5) & captain MS Dhoni (7), to his name while Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph & R Sai Kishore picked up 1 wicket each, Ruturaj Gaikwad (53), Shivam Dube (0) & Moeen Ali (21) respectively. 

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the top scorer for Chennai Super Kings, with 53 runs off 49 balls including 4 fours & a six. Youngster Jagadeesan contributed with an unbeaten 39 runs off 33 deliveries with 3 fours a six. 

Earlier, Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni won the toss & opted to bat first against Gujarat Titans in the 62nd match of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
