IND vs SA: Shreyas Iyer maintained his great form while 'home boy' Ishan Kishan played a thunderous knock as India defeated South Africa by 7 wickets in the 2nd ODI. India have now levelled the 3-match series 1-1 with the last match to be played.

Chasing 279, Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan (13), who looked in good touch with a six, was dismissed in the 6th over by Wayne Parnell for the second time in a row. Shubman Gill also smacked 5 fours for his 28 runs off 26 balls before he was dismissed courtesy of a brilliant return catch by Rabada in the 9th over.

However, local boy Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer held the crease for team India, etching a tremendous partnership of 161 runs for the third wicket, which proved to be match-winning. Ishan Kishan was dismissed just 7 runs shy of his century by Bjorn Fortuin, scoring 93 runs off just 84 balls with 4 fours & 7 sixes. 

Shreyas stayed on till the end, finishing the match with a boundary as India chased down the target in 45.5 overs. Shreyas remained unbeaten on 113 runs off 111 balls with 15 fours. For South Africa, Bjorn Fortuin, Wayne Parnell and Kagiso Rabada managed 1 wicket each. 

In the first innings, With brilliant fifties from Aiden Markram and in-form Reeza Hendricks, South Africa managed to post 278/7 in 50 overs against India in the 2nd ODI. India now needs 279 runs to level the 3-match series. 

Opener Quinton de Kock (5) was dismissed early on in the 3rd over by Mohammad Siraj. His opening partner Janneman Malan was also dismissed after scoring 25 runs as Shahbaz Ahmed grabbed his first international wicket in the 10th over of the innings. 

From thereon, Reeza Hendricks and Aiden Markram etched a brilliant partnership of 129 runs for the third wicket. Reeza was dismissed after scoring 74 runs (4x9, 6x1) while Aiden Markram scored 79 runs (4x7, 6x1). Heinrich Klaasen (30) and David Miller (35*) contributed handsomely to take South Africa to a good total. 

For India, Mohammad Siraj picked up three wickets and remained the top wicket-taker. Washington Sundar, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur managed 1 wicket each.

Earlier, South Africa captain Keshav Maharaj won the toss & opted to bat first against India in the 2nd ODI. This match is being played at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
