ENG vs NZ 2nd Test: Probably the oldest and yet the finest of England pacers, James Anderson has achieved yet another major milestone. In the ongoing second test match between England and New Zealand, James Anderson picked up his 650th test wicket as he cleaned up Kiwi skipper Tom Latham in the first over of the second innings.

After halting England to 539 in the first innings and obtaining a lead of 14 runs, New Zealand came out to bat in the second innings in the first session of Day 4. Stand-in captain Tom Latham and Will Young opened the innings as Anderson came on to bowl the first over of the innings.

After bowling the first three balls without conceding a run, and was smacked for a four on the fourth delivery. On the 5th delivery, Anderson angled in the delivery on a good length from round the wicket. The NZ skipper didn't cover his stumps as the ball went on to bang the middle of the two stumps. Latham was dismissed after scoring just 4 runs due to a total error in judgement. 

James Anderson became only the third bowler to cross 650 wickets with this wicket, achieving this feat in his 171st test match. While, Anderson is the only pacer to cross the 650 wicket mark, with only two spinners ahead of him - Muralitharan (800) & Anil Kumble (708).

While talking about the match, New Zealand posted 553 in the first innings after being put in to bat first. Daryl Mitchell scored 190 runs while Tom Blundell smacked 106 runs, along with contributions from Bracewell (49), Young (47) & Conway.

In reply, England scored 539 runs with Ollie Pope's 145 and Joe Root's 176. Opener Alex Lees also contributed with 67 runs while Trent Boult picked up his 10th 5-wicket haul in tests. New Zealand lost the first test and are fighting to stay alive in the 3-match series. This match is being played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham.
