LAH vs ISL: After an impressive batting performance, Lahore Qalandars' bowlers stepped up with an equally amazing display as they bundled out Islamabad United for just 90 runs, winning the PSL 8 16th match by a massive 110 runs. Lahore Qalandars have now won 4 out of 5 matches in PSL 8.

Chasing 201 runs to win, Islamabad United got off to a decent start as openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Colin Munro added 41 runs for the first wicket in 3.5 overs. Gurbaz (18) was then dismissed by Zaman Khan while Colin Munro (23) was dismissed two overs later by David Wiese.

From thereon, Islamabad's batting collapsed as they went from 54/2 to 90 all out in a space of around 8 overs. None of the batters apart from Munro and Gurbaz were able to reach the double-digit mark, except Tom Curran (10). For Lahore Qalandars, David Wiese was the top wicket-taker with 3 scalps to his name. Rashid Khan and Sikandar Raza picked up 2 wickets each while Zaman Khan and Haris Rauf managed 1 wicket each. 

Courtesy of the batting unit's performance, Lahore Qalandars posted 199/7 against Islamabad United in the 16th match of Pakistan Super League 2023. Abdullah Shafique top-scored for his team as all batters except one cross the double-digit mark. 

After opting to bat first, Lahore Qalandars openers gave a good start as Mirza Tahir Baig and Fakhar Zaman added 58 runs in 6.1 overs. Mirza Tahir was dismissed in the 7th over by Islamabad captain Shadab Khan after scoring 20 runs off 17 balls. 

Fakhar Zaman was dismissed in the next over for a 23-ball-36. Abdullah Shafique, who was the top scorer, etched a partnership of 71 runs in 39 balls for the 3rd wicket with Sam Billings. Shafique was dismissed for 45 runs in 24 balls while Sam Billings managed 33 runs in 23 balls. 

Sikandar Raza remained unbeaten on 23 runs from just 10 balls to provide good finishing. For Islamabad United, Tom Curran was the top wicket-taker with 3 wickets to his name. Shadab Khan picked up 2 wickets while Abrar Ahmed and Hasan Ali managed 1 wicket each. 

Earlier, Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Afridi won the toss & opted to bat first against Islamabad United in the 16th match of Pakistan Super League 2023. This match was played at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
