Lalit, Axar Guide Delhi Capitals To A 4 Wicket Win Over Mumbai Indians
Delhi Capitals were struggling at 104/6 in the chase when Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel joined hands.
An exceptional partnership between Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel helped Delhi Capitals beat Mumbai Indians by four wickets in the 2nd match of the IPL 2022 at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.
Chasing 178, DC had a poor start as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay. However, Tim Seifert had scored 21 off 14 in the first three overs and Prithvi Shaw was looking in fine touch at the other end.

Shaw added 40 runs in 31 balls with Lalit for the fourth wicket to stabilise the innings. Basil Thampi struck twice in one over to get both Shaw and Rovman Powell out as DC's score read 72/5 in 9.4 overs.
Shardul Thakur counter-attacked and smacked 22 off 11 balls with the help of four fours. But Thampi struck again as Capitals were 104/6 in 13.2 overs.
Lalit had already got his eye in and made sure he continued to attack MI bowlers. He got full support from Axar Patel, who himself scored 38 in 17 balls with the help of two fours and three sixes. Yadav remained unbeaten at 48 from 38 balls and finished the game in 18.2 overs. The duo added 75 in 30 balls.
Earlier, Ishan Kishan smacked unbeaten 81 in 48 balls to help MI reach 177/5 in the first inning.
Rohit Sharma and Ishan provided a solid start to Mumbai, adding 67 in 8.2 overs. Rohit scored 41 in 32 balls before Kuldeep Yadav had him caught at the boundary.
The rest of the batting lineup helped Ishan in continuing the momentum but no big partnership was made. Tilak Verma's 22 off 15 was the next highest score of Ishan and Rohit's.
