1st Innings (England) - England posted 430 runs in the first innings. Joe Root (134), Moeen Ali (77), Gary Ballance (61) and Ben Stokes (52) were the top scorers for the home side. For Australia, M Starc was the most successful bowler with 5/114.

2nd Innings (Australia) - England bundled out Australia for 308 taking 122 runs lead. Chris Rogers  scored 95 for his team. For England, James Anderson took 3/43 from 18.5 overs.

3rd Innings (England) -  Ian Bell (60) and Joe Root (60) helped England to post 289 in the second innings. For Australia, Nathon Lyon took 4/75. Australia were given the target of 412 to win the test match.
