Chasing a modest total of 157, Gujarat Titans bowlers bowled exceptionally well and manage to keep GT to 139/7 in 19 overs. However, KKR were still in the game more than their opponents as Russell was on the crease with 42 runs in 23 balls with 1 four & 5 sixes already.

On the first ball of the over, Russell dispatched a low full toss at stumps and the Caribbean batter got under it, launching it over long-on for a six.

With the equation down to 12 runs in 5 balls, Joseph bowled a short ball into Russell's body, and the batter miscued the shot to manage a thick top edge of the bat on the ball. Ferguson, running in from fine leg, ran too far and backtracked just in time, grabbing it next to his left shoulder before falling down.

Andre Russell was dismissed after scoring 48 runs in 25 balls with four and 6 sixes. After this, Gujarat went on to halt KKR at 148/8, winning the match by 8 runs.
