Sri Lanka cricket board, via a press release on December 13 (Monday) announced that the former Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene is appointed as the 'Consultant Coach' for the Sri Lanka national team in all three formats, starting from January 1st, 2022.
Jayawardena, in his new role, which is effective for a period of one year, will be in charge of the overall cricketing element of the national teams and will provide invaluable strategic support for the players and management teams at the High-Performance Center.
The press release further stated that Jayawardene has been appointed as the 'Consultant Coach' for a period of one year. He's been assigned the role to take charge of the overall 'cricketing element' of the national teams and also has to provide 'invaluable strategic support' for the players and management teams at the High-Performance Center.
