MI vs LSG IPL 2022: Marcus Stoinis was one of the draft picks for Lucknow Super Giants, and nearly won them the match against Rajasthan Royals, where Stoinins was playing his first match for LSG. In the second match, against Mumbai Indians, Stoinis came set from the pavillion as he smacked the first delivery he faced for a monster six.

After LSG lost their second wicket in the form of Manish Pandey in the 14th over at a score of 124/2, Stoinis came out with an intent to smack from ball 1 and take the team to a huge total. On the second delivery of the 14th over, being bowled by Murugan Ashwin, Manish Pandey was dismissed after scoring 38 runs in 29 balls.

Stoinis came out to bat at #4. Ashwin welcomed the right-handed batter with a googly, and Stoinis muscled it over long-on for a majestic 104 metre-six. 

The Australian all-rounder was picked as a draft pick by Lucknow Super Giants for 9.20 crores INR ahead of the IPL 2022 auction. However, despite starting off well against Mumbai Indians, Stoinis was dismissed in the 17th over after scoring just 10 runs in 9 balls with a six.

Talking about the match, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants in the 26th match of IPL 2022. KL Rahul smacked a wonderful ton and powered his team to a total of 199/4 in 20 overs. Rahul smacked 103 runs in 60 balls, smacking 9 fours and 5 sixes to bring up his maiden ton for LSG, his second against Mumbai Indians and his third IPL century. Mumbai Indians now need 200 runs in 20 overs to register their first win after 5 consecutive losses.
