New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner didn't get to start in both the test matches against India, nonetheless, he made his presence felt. In the 2nd test at Wankhede, Santner's brilliance in fielding attracted praises from everyone.
In the 47th over of India's first innings, Mitchell Santner made a brilliant flying save while fielding at the boundary. This valiant effort by Santner immediately boosted the NZ team's morale. Shreyas Iyer smacked a cracking shot towards the leg side on Somerville's delivery. When the ball contacted Iyer's bat, it looked like a certain boundary.

However, Santner had other plans. Fielding at the boundary rope, he flew in the air and stopped the ball from crossing the boundary. Nevertheless, he stopped 5 runs for his team which earned him applause from his teammates. This resulted in Mitchell Santner getting the award for 'Best Save of the Match' and prize money of Rs. 1 lakh, without even being in the playing XI.
