Prithvi Shaw-led Mumbai stormed past Uttar Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy Semi-Finals and entered its 47th Final where it will meet Madhya Pradesh on 22nd June at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore.

On being asked to bat first by UP, Mumbai smashed 393 runs in the first inning on the back of centuries by opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and wicketkeeper Hardik Tamore. Karan Sharma's four-wicket haul and Saurabh Kumar's three wickets helped UP restrict Mumbai below 400. 

In reply, Mumbai bowlers were all over the UP batters and bowled them out for mere 180 runs to get a massive 213-run lead in the first inning. The highest scorer for Uttar Pradesh was Shivam Mavi - 48. Tushar Deshpande, Mohit Avasthi, and Tanush Kotian all picked three wickets each. 

In the next inning, Mumbai decided to play for the remainder of the game knowing they have the dominant side to the game. Captain Shaw decided to have fun as he smacked 64 in 71 balls upfront in an unusual partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the opening wicket. 

Jaiswal slammed 181 while Armaan Jaffer scored 127 as Mumbai batters completely pushed UP out of the game and it was only a matter of time before the result was announced. Shami Mulani and Sarfaraz Khan scored the fifties when the match got over with Mumbai leading by 746 runs.

Mumbai is the most successful team in the history of the Ranji Trophy, winning 41 titles in 47 finals it has played so far. Mumbai will meet Madhya Pradesh, who has entered the final after 23 years.
