Chasing a slightly below-par total of 159, MI lost Rohit Sharma cheaply in the 3rd over. Ishan Kishan, who was looking refreshing today during his 26 off 18, got out in the sixth over as Mumbai finished the powerplay with the score of 41/2.

The chase was set up by Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Verma's 81-run stand in 56 balls for the third wicket. Suryakumar scored 51 in 39 balls with the help of four fours and a six before getting out in the 15th over. Tilak Verma followed him two balls later as he got out after making 35 in 30 balls.

Tim David and Kieron Pollard added 33 in 23 balls for the fifth wicket to take things down to the last over where they needed just four to win. Pollard got out on the first ball after making a struggling 10 off 14. Daniel Sams finished things off with a six as MI finally registered a win this season. Tim David remained unbeaten on 20 off nine balls.

Earlier, disciplined bowling from Mumbai bowlers helped them restrict Rajasthan to 158/6 despite Jos Buttler's half-century.
Buttler scored his slowest T20 fifty in 48 balls but finished his inning on 67 from 52 balls as he smacked Hrithik Shokeen for four sixes in a row before getting out in the same over.

Apart from Buttler, no other batter stood up to give a good finish to the team. Devdutt Padikkal and Sanju Samson had started but couldn't continue. R Ashwin's 21 off nine was vital at the backend of the inning.
