Chennai Super Kings acquired N Jagadeesan for just 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Jagadeesan has been a part of CSK for the past 4 years and there was a time when the 26-year-old was being looked upon as MS Dhoni's replacement, but the Chennai franchise decided to part way with the youngster ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction.

While talking about the match between Tamil Nadu and Haryana, Haryana opted to field first after winning the toss after which opener N Jagadeesan batted tremendously and with the help of 6 fours & 6 sixes, scored 128 runs in 123 deliveries. Jagadeesan's opening partner B Sai Sudharsan also scored 67 runs off 74 balls as the openers added 151 runs for the first wicket. From thereon, Tamil Nadu lost three quick wickets. Shahrukh Khan held the crease for a while as he scored 46 runs off 54 balls as Tamil Nadu posted 284/7 in 50 overs.
