N Jagadeesan Shows 'Spark' Ahead Of IPL 2023 Auction; Smacks 4th Consecutive Ton In Vijay Hazare Trophy

Ahead of the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings released 8 players. Amidst these 8 players, N Jagadeesan's name was also present, after which the batter piled on runs in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The Tamil Nadu player showed his class against Haryana on Saturday (19th November) and smacked 128 runs laced with 4 fours & 4 sixes.

In the 5 matches played in Vijay Hazare Trophy so far, Jagadeesan has accumulated 522 runs. Jagadeesan has maintained an impeccable average of 130.50 while maintaining a strike rate of 105.66 in the 50-over tournament. N Jagadeesan is currently the leading run-scorer. In the ongoing tournament, the wicket-keeper batter has smashed 44 fours and 16 sixes. Out of 522 runs scored, 272 runs have been scored via boundaries only (176 runs through fours and 96 runs through sixes).

Chennai Super Kings acquired N Jagadeesan for just 20 lakhs in the IPL 2022 mega auction. Jagadeesan has been a part of CSK for the past 4 years and there was a time when the 26-year-old was being looked upon as MS Dhoni's replacement, but the Chennai franchise decided to part way with the youngster ahead of IPL 2023 mini-auction.

While talking about the match between Tamil Nadu and Haryana, Haryana opted to field first after winning the toss after which opener N Jagadeesan batted tremendously and with the help of 6 fours & 6 sixes, scored 128 runs in 123 deliveries. Jagadeesan's opening partner B Sai Sudharsan also scored 67 runs off 74 balls as the openers added 151 runs for the first wicket. From thereon, Tamil Nadu lost three quick wickets. Shahrukh Khan held the crease for a while as he scored 46 runs off 54 balls as Tamil Nadu posted 284/7 in 50 overs.
