IND vs NZ: New Zealand are set to tour India for a 3-match ODI series, followed by a 3-match T20I series. Before this, India toured New Zealand in November 2022 for the ODI and T20I series comprising 3 matches each.

In the upcoming tour of India, New Zealand will first play three ODIs, starting from January 18th (Wednesday). The 3-match T20I series on the other hand, will commence on January 27th (Friday). The last match of the tour will be played on 1st February.

Here's the full IND vs NZ 2023 schedule, match timings and venues:

  • 1st ODI – Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Hyderabad (1.30 PM IST) – January 18th (Wednesday)
  • 2nd ODI – Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium, Raipur (1.30 PM IST) – January 21st (Saturday)
  • 3rd ODI – Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore (1.30 PM IST) – January 24th (Tuesday)

 

  • 1st T20I – JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi (7:00 PM IST) – January 27th (Friday)
  • 2nd T20I – Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow (7:00 PM IST) – January 29th (Sunday)
  • 3rd T20I – Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad (07:00 PM IST) – February 1st (Friday)

Coming to the teams, India have gone with the regulars in the ODI series along with Ishan Kishan and KS Bharat making their way in to cover for Rishabh Pant. Shreyas Iyer was ruled out of the ODI series due to a back injury, and Rajat Patidar was named his replacement. In the T20I series however, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Mohammed Siraj have been sidelined with India looking to build a young T20I side under Hardik Pandya. 

On the other hand, New Zealand will be without their captain Kane Williamson and vice-captain Tim Southee. Tom Latham will lead the side in ODIs while all-rounder Mitchell Santner will lead the Kiwi side in T20Is. Blair Tickner and Henry Shipley are new names in this squad, who recently earned their maiden call-up during New Zealand's tour of Pakistan.
