Pallekele, July 7 (CRICKETNMORE)-   Pakistan beat Host Sri Lanka by 7 wickets in 3rd test match to take the series 2-1. Younis Khan's (171*) brilliant hundred helped Pakistan to chase down a massive target of and win the Test series. This is their first Test series win in Sri Lanka since April 2006. This is also the first time that there has been a result in a Test match played at Pallekele. This is the highest successful run chase for Pakistan in Test cricket and also the highest successful run chase ever in Sri Lanka.

By the of end the first session itself, Pakistan were well on top. The veteran pair of Younis and Misbah-ul-Haq made sure that they would put the finishing touches with a century stand. Younis, in particular, played aggressively at the start of the session. Misbah followed him up with a few sumptuous shots of his own. It is a morale-boosting victory for the young Pakistani set-up. On the other hand, Sri Lanka have a lot to ponder about.
