Pretoria Capitals March Into SA20 Final With 29 Run Win Against Paarl Royals In 1st Semi-Final
Pretoria Capitals qualified as the #1 placed team on the points table and defeated Paarl Royals in consecutive days to make it to the finals.
SA20 PRE vs PRL: After yet another impressive bowling performance, Pretoria Capitals bowled out Paarl Royals for 124/10 in 19 overs to march into the finals of the inaugural SA20 league. David Miller gave a little scare with his knock but the Capitals held their nerve to go continue their good run in the season.
Chasing 154 to win, the Royals lost their opener, Jason Roy, on the 2nd delivery of the innings against Eathan Bosch. Bosch went on to dismiss Jos Buttler on the first delivery of his next dealing a huge blow. Irish opener Paul Stirling scored 21 runs off 14 balls but was dismissed by English spinner Adil Rashid just after the powerplay.

David Miller top-scored for his team as he managed 30 runs off 27 balls. However, his partner failing to save their wicket and the captain's dismissal in the 19th over eventually sealed the deal for Capitals. Pretoria qualified as the #1 placed team on the points table and defeated Paarl Royals in consecutive days to make it to the finals.
Nortje, Bosch, Rashid and James Neesham picked up 2 wickets each while Migael Pretorius and Rilee Rossouw grabbed 1 wicket each.
Amidst batting failures, Rilee Rossoyw stepped up with a fifty as Pretoria Capitals posted 153/8 against Paarl Royals in the 1st semi-final of SA20 2023. Andile Phelukwayo was the top wicket-taker for the Royals with 3 wickets to his name.
While Kusal Mendis (7) and captain Theunis de Bruyn (9), were dismissed cheaply, opener Phil Salt scored 22 runs in 21 balls. Rilee Rossouw, batting at #4, smacked 56 runs off 41 balls with 5 fours & 3 sixes to guide his team to a fighting total.
Eathan Bosch also played a quick hand of 22 runs in 10 balls with 3 fours & a six. For Paarl Royals, apart from Phehlukwayo, Tabraiz Shamsi picked up 2 wickets while Bjorn Fortuin and Evan Jones managed 1 wicket each.
Earlier, Paarl Royals captain David Miller won the toss & opted to bowl first against Pretoria Capitals in the 1st semi-final of SA20. This match is being played at The Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg.
