Chasing a mammoth total of 215, Prithvi Shaw and David Warner once again gave a terrific start to the team, scoring 43 runs in 4.3 overs before Prasidh Krishna got the Australian opener out for 28. R Ashwin removed Sarfaraz Khan in the next over as DC finished the powerplay at a score of 55.

Shaw and Rishabh Pant added 51 runs in 30 balls to keep up with the scoring rate. Ashwin once again struck in the 10th over, removing Shaw on 37. Two overs later, Pant also departed after smacking 44 in 24 balls. Things looked down and out after Axar Patel too got out in the next over.

However, Lalit Yadav kept Delhi in the hunt with his 37 in 24 balls. Prasidh Krishna's brilliant game peaked in the 19th over when he bowled a wicket-maiden when Delhi needed 36 in 12 balls.

With 36 needed in the last over, Rovman Powell smashed three sixes on the first balls to give DC an outside chance to steal a win. On the third ball, Obed McCoy bowled a high full toss and Delhi protested to check if that was a no-ball.

There was a drama on the field with DC captain Rishabh Pant even calling the two batters back in the dugout and assistant coach Pravin Amre running into the ground to talk with the umpires, who stood by the decision.

After a brief pause, McCoy didn't concede another six and safely defended the remaining runs to give a 15-runs win to the Royals.

Earlier, Jos Buttler smacked his third century of the IPL 2022 to power RR to the season's highest team total of 222/2.

Buttler smashed 116 runs in 65 balls with the help of nine sixes and as many fours. He added 155 runs for the opening wicket with Devdutt Padikkal in 15.1 overs. Padikkal made 54 in 35 balls including seven fours and two sixes.

Sanju Samson gave the perfect finishing touch to the Royal inning with his 46-run knock in just 19 balls that featured five fours and three sixes.
