Chasing a below-par total of 145, RCB's top order once again failed as promoted opener Virat Kohli once again got out cheaply for nine, Faf du Plessis could only make 23 while Rajat Patidar made a run-a-ball 16. Apart from the trio, Glenn Maxwell bagged a golden duck.
Bangalore managed only 37 runs in the powerplay and lost the wicket of Kohli but Kuldeep Sen's seventh over bagged two wickets of du Plessis and Maxwell on successive balls to push RCB to backfoot.

Rajasthan kept chipping in with wickets at regular intervals and didn't let RCB stitch a partnership. The bowlers were helped by fine fielding efforts throughout the inning including a runout of Dinesh Karthik.

Riyan Parag, who was already having a great night, grabbed four catches. Kuldeep Sen took four wickets, Ravichandran Ashwin finished with three wickets while Prasidh Krishna picked two wickets.

Earlier, Parag smacked unbeaten 56 to take Royal to a 144/8 in the first inning.

RR too had a horror start as they lost three wickets inside the powerplay and made 43 runs. Devdutt Padikkal(7), Jos Buttler(8), and R Ashwin(17) all got out inside the first six overs.

Sanju Samson made 27 in 21 balls before he too got out in the 10th over against a familiar bowler - Wanindu Hasaranga. Debutant Daryl Mitchell struggled for his 16 off 24 balls. It was Riyan Parag who kept scoring runs from one end as the wicket kept falling the other.

He scored 23 runs in the last eight balls to give a good finish to the team. Parag's 56-run knock off 31 balls included four sixes and three fours.
