SA vs IND: Indian Team For ODIs Announced, Rohit Sharma Out Of ODI Series

The Indian squad for the upcoming one day series against South Africa has been announced. Indian fans were hopeful that the newly appointed limited-overs cricketer Rohit Sharma would be fit by the time, but that has not been the case and he has been ruled out of the ODI series.

Rohit's absence means KL Rahul will get to captain the ODI team. For the first time, we'll witness Virat Kohli playing under KL Rahul's captaincy. Meanwhile, Mohammad Shami has been rested due to workload management & Shikhar Dhawan has been selected, given his excellent numbers in South Africa. Yuzvendra Chahal has also made his return.

This team also contains names that have impressed in the domestic tournaments. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer & Ruturaj Gaikwad have been included. These two had a tremendous outing in IPL 2021 and then Vijay Hazare Trophy 2021, which attracted the attention of the selectors, and now will represent India at the global level.
