Lahore, Feb 18 (CRICKETNMORE): A week after being sent back from the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) in Dubai, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday issued charge-sheets to the suspended duo of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing during the tournament.

Both cricketers, who were part of the Islamabad United franchise in the PSL, had recorded their audio statements at the PCB headquarters on Wednesday.

"Sharjeel Khan has been charged with violation of Code Articles 2.1.1; 2.1.2; 2.1.3; 2.4.4; and 2.4.5 and Khalid Latif has been charged with violation of Code Articles 2.1.1; 2.1.2; 2.1.3; 2.1.4; 2.4.4; and 2.4.5," read a PCB statement.

Sharjeel was found to be in violation of five major articles in the PCB's anti-corruption code while Latif was also found to have breached six major articles under Clause 2, including specific ones to attempt to corrupt a game, as well as more general misdemeanours of failing to disclose suspect approaches.

Latif has been additionally charged for soliciting, inducing, enticing, instructing, persuading, encouraging or intentionally facilitating an attempt to corrupt outcome of the match.

"PCB maintains zero tolerance toward corrupt practices it believes are cancer eating at the heart of the game," the statement further read.

"In the meanwhile investigations will continue by vigilance and security department with regard to any questionable activity by any player and player support personnel," the statement added.
