KKR vs RR IPL 2022: Rajasthan Royals' explosive English opener Jos Buttler has been in an impeccable for in this season of the IPL. However, the batter failed to smack a big score in the ongoing match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

With a strike rate of 88, Buttler managed only 22 runs off 25 balls with 3 boundaries. However, in an attempt to play a big shot in the 9th over of the innings being bowled by Tim Southee, Buttler gave a catch to Shivam Mavi.

Southee bowled a full delivery and Jos Buttler thumped it towards long-on. The ball was travelling very quickly, and Shivam Mavi, fielding at the boundary, leapt into the air and managed to hold on to a double-handed catch. 

It is noteworthy that Jos Buttler has been near perfect in his batting this season, smacking a galore of runs. With the orange cap on his head, Buttler has scored 588 runs in 10 innings with an average of 65.33, including 3 centuries and 3 half-centuries.

The opener has already registered the record for the most runs in a season by a Rajasthan Royals player. He has passed Ajinkya Rahane's tally of 560 runs for Rajasthan Royals in the 2012 season of the IPL. The Englishman was retained for 10 crores INR ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction by Rajasthan Royals.

While talking about the match, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss & opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 47th match of IPL 2022. While KKR are struggling in the bottom half of the table with 6 points to their name and five consecutive defeats in the last 5 matches, RR have been on a roll and won 6 out of 9 matches. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
