As wickets continued to fall apart from a 47-ball-65 run partnership with GT captain Hardik Pandya. With this innings, Gill reminded us of Virat Kohli from 2016, who used to play a similar sort of innings, carefully moderating the acceleration. Kohli used to start off cautiously and slowly, completing his fifty off 35-45 balls, and then changing gears to smack another 40-50 runs in the next 15-20 balls.
Another special thing about Gill's inning was the no. of dot balls he faced. Out of the 45 balls he faced, 10 cleared the fence and the 22-year old faced only 6 dot balls, making sure of rotating the strike regularly.
