Sehwag, here on a promotional visit, said that the series is likely to be an interesting affair and voiced his confidence in the Virat Kohli-led Indian team's abilities.

"There are many young and talented players in the team and the contest is going to be a close one" Sehwag said.

The ace cricketer was mobbed by fans while he embarked on a stroll in the Ram Manohar Lohia park in the posh Gomtinagar area.

They jostled with each other to take selfies with Sehwag. Some enthusiastic fans also raised slogans "Sehwag come back", apparently seeking his return to international cricket.

Experienced leg-spinner Amit Mishra on Thursday was recalled to the Indian cricket team for the series against Sri Lanka. He replaced young leg-spinner Karn Sharma in the 15-member team that was picked by the Sandeep Patil-led Board of Control for Cricket in India's (BCCI) All-India Senior Selection Committee which met in New Delhi.
