Collective batting efforts from Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis Pathum Nissanka and Sadeera Samarawickrama at the top of the order and cameos from the lower middle order powered Sri Lanka to a mammoth total. Wanindu Hasaranga on his return picked up three wickets. Dhnanjaya de Silva picked up three wickets. With the win in the 2nd ODI, Sri Lanka level the series 1-1. The home team are likely to go in with the same playing XI. 

After a victory in the first ODI, Afghanistan were clueless in the 2nd ODI. First, their bowlers conceded over 300 runs and then their batsman struggled to score runs against the spin attack of Sri Lanka handing them a huge win. If Afghanistan aim to script history in the Lankan Islands they will have to be at their best in both batting and bowling against the experienced Sri Lankan team. Expect Afghanistan to go in with the same playing XI for the series decider.
