However, both Rohit and Ishan got out in the space of five balls. The 11th to 15th over phase saw SRH coming back in the game and reducing MI down to 127/4. Umran Malik displayed brilliant fast bowling as he got three wickets in his three overs.

Tim David then launched himself as he smacked 46 runs in just 18 balls including four sixes (all in one T Natarajan over) and three fours. Unfortunately, to get the strike for the next over, David tried taking a risky run and got out.

In the 19th over, Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed a death bowling masterclass as he bowled a maiden wicket over. MI had to chase 19 runs in the last over and Ramandeep Singh almost pulled it off but couldn't take Mumbai over the line as they fell short by three runs.

Earlier, Rahul Tripathi took Sunrisers Hyderabad to 193/6 in the first inning.

On being asked to bat first, SRH lost Abhishek Sharma early but Priyam Garg and Rahul Tripathi added 78 runs in 43 balls for the second wickets. Garg, playing his first match of the season, scored 42 runs in 26 balls with the help of four fours and two sixes.

Tripathi then added another 76 runs in 42 balls with Nicholas Pooran for the third wicket. Pooran smashed 38 in 22 balls two fours and three sixes while Tripathi hit 76 in 44 balls with the help of nine fours and three sixes. SRH lost both Rahul and Pooran in the space of three balls which meant that they couldn't have the final flourish.
