SA vs BAN: South Africa hammered Bangladesh by a huge margin of 104 runs in one of the important games of Group 2 here at Sydney Cricket Ground.

While defending the big total of 205 runs, South African bowlers bundled Bangladesh to 105 runs where spearhead Anrich Nortje's four-wicket-haul at a profound economy of 2.90 just leaking 10 runs in 3.3 overs and Tabraiz Shamsi's 3 of 20 runs at an economy of 5.00 seized the momentum in their favor.

Keshav Maharaja (1/24) and Kagiso Rabada (1/24 in 3 overs) went well will the bowl for the Proteas.

Bangladesh on the other hand abysmal performance took them completely ransacked. Litton Das with his 34 runs off 31 balls was the highest individual run for the team. The second top score came from the bat of Soumya Sarkar (15). 

The rest of the batting lineup got drowned with seven batters who were not able to score runs in double digits.

Earlier in the first inning, after winning the toss South Africa came to bat but yet in another match skipper, Temba Bavuma failed to deliver with the bat and scored just 2 runs in 6 balls.

A blistering hundred by Rilee Rossouw and a smashing fifty by Quinton De Kock help South Africa post a huge target of 206 runs by losing just five wickets against Bangladesh.

Keeper-batter Quinton De Kock continued his form and smashed 63 runs in 38 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes. De Kock also thrashed a 168 runs 2nd wicket partnership with Rilee Rossouw.

Rossouw was the showdown man of the night as he scored a swashbuckling hundred. The batter blasted 109 runs in 56 balls which included 7 fours and 8 sixes which he got at a strike rate of 194.64.

South Africa was in a good position till 15 over but the opponents bowled well and got wickets in quick succession which helped them to restrict the side to 205.

For Bangladesh skipper, Shakib Al Hasan was the leading wicket-taker with 2 dismissals. Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, and Afif Hossain got one wicket each.
