They lost the first two games, but they finally opened their account with a win against the Uganda Cricket Team. It was the Trinidad cricket match played on Friday at Brian Lara Stadium, which the New Zealand cricket team won convincingly. It started when New Zealand won the toss and decided to bowl first.

Most All-outs under 100 runs in single T20 WC: The ongoing T20 World Cup 2024 has now recorded the most number of teams getting all-out under the score of 100 runs. Ten times, teams have not crossed 100 runs in an inning, which is a record now. The previous record was 8 in the 2014 and 2021 editions.

Lowest Inning Run Rate in T20 WC: Uganda had a horrible batting display. They only made 40 runs in 18.4 overs at a run rate of 2.14. It is now the lowest run rate in a completed inning in a T20 World Cup match in history.

Lowest Strike Rate in T20 WC Inning: Uganda's opener, Ronak Patel, played one of the slowest innings in the match. He scored 2 runs off 20 balls at a strike rate of 10. This is now the lowest strike rate for a player in a T20 World Cup inning. Adding to that, Uganda's captain Brain Masaba scored 3 runs off 20 balls at a strike rate of 15, the second lowest in history.

Most maidens in T20 WC Match: New Zealand bowled a total of three maiden overs in this match. One each by Boult, Southee, and Ravindra. This is the joint-most maiden overs bowled in a completed T20 World Cup match.

Most Economical T20 WC Spell: Tim Southee bowled an exceptional spell of 3/4 in his four overs at an economy rate of 1. It is now the most economical spell ever bowled in a T20 World Cup match.
